虽然雨依旧在下，雷声也有，但雨下小了。从下午14点28分到14:50 分钟，暴雨转小雨足足用了20分钟。
刚刚一分钟，一场击地有声的暴雨落下地面，3分钟地面全部湿透，5分钟雨越下越大。不言而喻，这是一场及时雨，截止笔者作出上述描述时，雨仍在下，下雨前后并伴有雷声阵阵。密切关注这场雨走势。
水利部长江水利委员会16日发布调度令，调度三峡水库于当日12时起向长江中下游补水。初步测算，三峡水库加大下泄，未来5天将为长江中下游补水约5亿立方米。
长江委副总工程师陈桂亚说，调度令执行后，三峡水库水位将从目前的约147.2米逐日均匀消落，8月21日按不低于146米控制。在三峡水库向长江中下游补水期间，金沙江下游梯级水库群也同期开展补水调度，可增加补水约3亿立方米。
受持续高温少雨天气影响，长江流域一些省份近期出现不同程度的旱情。8月1日至15日，长江委统筹抗旱用水和高温保供电需求，调度流域控制性水库群有序向中下游地区补水约53亿立方米，其中三峡水库补水10.9亿立方米，一定程度上缓解长江中下游干流水位偏低的情况。
